Friday's Final Thought: Lifelines

We'll share a full recap next week, but I wanted to share this final thought on this Friday when all our kids are headed home from the last overnight camp of 2016.  On the last night of #CRSFcamp, we ask campers to vote on a camper of the week from their team.  There is only one from each team, but there are usually many nominees.  One chaperone remarked that it was neat to see that the kids all saw different things in each other, despite having only known each other for a few short days.  Usually they just write names, but one camper wrote a reason:

Summer's not over yet!

We are excited to kick of our first August camp with 186 campers and their mentors, who flew and drove in from Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. On top of that we had a group fly internationally all the way from Nicaragua! The kids are geared up and excited for a week full of baseball, rope lines, team building and many more fun experiences. Not only that but they will have presentations throughout the week from our Badges for Baseball partners and inspiring guest speakers.

And That’s a Wrap for #CRSFcamp June 2016

After a week full of camp activities, demonstrations, and inspiring guest speakers, it is safe to say our campers had an experience of a lifetime. With the wonderful opportunity to hear presentations from our public safety partners as well as former University of Maryland basketball player Ernie Graham, Rachel’s Challenge, and our very own Brooke Austin, our campers left inspired to live a positive life. Even in such a short time, we could see that our campers were taking all they learned throughout the week and applying it into their final games.
